Management tools is a feature in the Azure Portal, currently in Public Preview, but it is ment to administrate servers hosted outside Azure. Giving us a single administrative interface, but it also works for Azure Virtual Machines.
Does it require inbound traffic? No 🙂 We establish a Proxy in the LAN, which then distributes the agent to the Servers we target in tool.
What can we do with this tool?
Run PowerShell scripts and commands on the servers:
Run Windows Update:
Install Roles and Features:
Certificate Manager:
Event viewer:
Performance Monitor:
Computer Identification for domain joining and computer naming:
Check status and start/stop/restart services:
Firewall rules:
And much more, and I must say I like it 🙂
