Starting a series of Windows Server 2012 R2 Posts – Why and why?

Join my road through MCSA Server 2012 (R2) and later MCSE Server Infrastructure. I am starting all over again to learn from the basic and advancing through this series of posts.

Lets start With how we can achieve the titles, and based on where we come from, there are different roads to drive.

MCSA Server 2012 is updated to R2 and later we will have upgrade path to Server 2016.

MCSA Server 2012 has three exams or certifications we need to pass, and they are 70-410, 70-411 and 70-412. These exams is about ‘Installing and Configuring Windows Server 2012′, ‘Administering Windows Server 2012′ and ‘Configuring Advanced Windows Server 2012 Services’.

If you like me, have MCSA Office 365 we earn MCSA Server 2012 With only 70-410 and 70-411, because 70-347 can replace the 70-412. They are bought about Microsoft Services, but still different, so to realy learn Server 2012 you wouldn’t be doing yourself a favor by skipping 70-412.

Upgrade from Server 2008 to Server 2012, if you have a prior MCITP, there is an Upgrade Path through 70-417.

After earning MCSA Server 2012 we meet the pre-reqs to earn MCSE Server Infrastructure and it require passing 70-413 and 70-414. These two Exams is about ‘Design and Implementing a Server Infrastructure’ and ‘Implementing an Advanced Server Infrastructure’.

Why am I going through all this?

First of all, after School, this is the only way we can document our knowledge with Microsoft Products and the way we also learn alot about the products. So we are building our own Curriculum Vitae (CV – a short description of our lifespan), and our employments CV.

Because we are used in buisness deals and partnerships, so it is important for business to be documented qualified, which is the second why. For example if you are a Microsoft Partner you’ll need the right set of certifications to meet requirements for Competencies. In order to use Microsoft Planning Service Days, Deployment Funding and receive kickback later.

The last, but not least, it is a way to learn and for those of us that only need an Upgrade to be Recertified, it is a way to keep yourself updated. Also outside the minor field we work With from day to day.
